Fisichella aiming to make most of R27

Giancarlo Fisichella believes his third year with Renault will be his best yet. Speaking at the launch of the French teams 2007 car, the R27, Fisichella was upbeat about the coming season, which will see him and team mate Heikki Kovalainen race to protect Renaults 2006 title double.
"The spirit of the team is strong after two fantastic seasons, and we are feeling optimistic," said the Italian. "The team has shown its confidence in me for the new season, and I determined to repay that in the best way possible, out on track.
Fisichella won just a single Grand Prix last season as he struggled to match the pace of then team mate Fernando Alonso. This year his aim is to add race-winning consistency to his natural speed in order to become a regular contender at the front of the field.
The team knows how to design winning cars capable of fighting for the championship, added Fisichella. That means there is a fantastic opportunity for me this year, and I am determined to make the most of it."
Fisichella has already had a taster of the teams new challenger, during testing in Jerez last week. The 34 year-old, who will be the third most experienced driver on the grid in 2007, completed over 250 laps at the three-day session.
